STEM Freedom School
The STEM Freedom School is a FREE 6-week educational summer program of the Science Museum of Minnesota's Kitty Andersen Youth Science Center, whose success is dependent upon our robust partnership with the Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood, TRANE Technologies, and Saint Paul City School, which serves as the host site and primary recruiting partner for program participants. Although
Evolving an already successful model - STEM Freedom School vs. “traditional” Freedom School: CDF Freedom School has proven success in reducing summer learning loss. Similar to all Freedom Schools, our morning curriculum focuses on literacy. Unlike any other Freedom School, we are the 1st STEM focused Freedom School in the entire nation, and provide our STEMJustice curriculum during afternoon programming. The KAYSC's STEMJustice pedagogy is an educational framework that combines science + social justice. We ask our staff and scholars "How can you use STEM as a tool to make a difference and solve problems in our community?"
This summer our 2024 STEM Freedom School will run from June 17th - July 26th, 2024. You must complete one enrollment form for each child you are registering.
